Where can I enjoy my Tiny House?
Each city and county have their own regulations on the enjoyment and use of any property. Below are a few examples of jurisdictions with their regulations. Although we research and learn as much as we can about these regulations you need to talk with the jurisdiction where you would like to use your tiny home to make sure it meets their requirements.
Tiny Home Communities
Welcome to the only exclusive, year-round, Tiny Home community around the Twin Cities, Tiny Timbers Agrihood. Just across the border in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin this community will be completed soon. Check out their webpage to see what's available, and what they have to offer.

RV Parks
Although they are built like traditional houses Pocket of Perfection tiny homes are classified as Travel Trailers or Park Model RV's and as such they can be enjoyed in MOST long term RV parks. (Be sure to check with the park on their requirements/restrictions) If this option is interesting reach out and we can help find the right park for you.
Wright Co
Wright County does not have any specific language in their ordinances regarding tiny houses, and instead they fall under the same classification as travel trailers and if they meet certain requirements for size, setbacks, and septic they can be enjoyed for up to 90 days in any 12 month period. If you intend to use your new home in Wright County please reach out and we can help build a tiny home that meets the County's requirements.
MEEKER CO
Meeker County also does not have any specific language in their ordinances regarding tiny houses, and instead they fall under the same classification as recreational vehicles and can be enjoyed up to 30 days per year without any permit. If the trailer is going to be used and/or stored for more than 30 days per year Meeker County has a permit that can be obtained to use and/or store the trailer on the property for more than 30 days per year for up to 5 years. Additional length beyond 5 years requires a new permit from the county. We have been informed that in order to get a permit the trailer must meet setbacks (road, lake, and property line) and have a septic (varies depending on use). This would allow our tiny homes to be used on its own property or in the backyard of an existing home provided it met certain requirements.
STERNS CO
Sterns County although our homes are not intended to be used as permanent dwellings, Sterns County does allow attached and detached ADU's (Accessory Dwelling Unit or a second home on the property). These regulations MAY allow a homeowner (or their family) to enjoy a tiny home on the same property as an existing house with less restrictions (Like if a snowbird parent wanted to enjoy staying on the property, with their own space, for a longer period of time.)
Your town/county
The above jurisdictions are only a handful we have talked with. You MAY be able to use your new Tiny Home in your town right now with current regulations, you may have to ask the city to change regulations (St Paul recently amended their regulations making it easier to live in a tiny house), or you may have to seek out a nearby community that has embraced tiny homes. If you need to help understanding the regulations or need help talking with the city, reach out and we can help.
